This project is a research of a technique that was used in the videogame Prince of Persia from 1981. This technique is called rotoscope and they used it for the animation of the characters. In essence, rotoscoping is drawing over pre-recorded footage in order to capture the movement of the real person in video. Each frame is drawn and that is how the movement can be extracted from the real-life footage.
In this project, I used an algorithm to track those frames and to interpret them, leaving the essence of the movement that made this game so great.
The result is a video of 10 minutes that explains the story of the game, through the use of this isolated tracked movements of the main characters.
